Nikos Athienitis

He was born in Nicosia. He is a member of the Cyprus Union of Playwrights, the Cyprus Centre of the International Theatre Institute and the Scriptwriters Guild of Greece.
He contributed several short plays to the "Cypriot Sketch" program, broadcast on Cy.B.C, (Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation) for many years and has received nine awards in relative competitions. Works of the author were broadcast on the Cy.B.C. programs "Pleasant half an hour'', "Happy Sunday" and “Smile please”. He also contributed short plays to the program "Cyprus Scenes" broadcast on LOGOS Radio.
Plays written by the author were also shown on the Cy.B.C. Television. He was a member of a team of authors who wrote the scripts for the series "I won't forget", "Avlatzia" and "The Serial", all of which were broadcast on LOGOS (MEGA) Television.
The Cy.B.C awarded his one-act Radio Plays “Bearing Signatures And Seals” and “Wakening In The Dark”, in 1982 and 1985 respectively, the first prize in Radio Theatrical Plays competitions announced.
In 2004, along with Mikis Nikitas, he published the Book «Five bitter one-act plays about Cyprus». In 2010 he published his Book “The Awarded Cypriot Sketches and Radio Plays”. In 2013 the Book received an award in the International Literature Contest organised by the Greek Cultural Association of Cypriots. Theatrical Plays by the author also received awards in the same Contest in 2013, 2014 and 2016.
