Decision Cancellation of the Cinema Center for Postponement of the General Meeting

The Athens First Instance Court upheld the injunction against the Greek Film Centre, submitted by a member of the General Assembly. The court annulled the decision of the Administration to postpone a planned and compulsory by law meeting of June 30th for the forthcoming September 2010 and ordered the Administration GCC to convene an Annual General Meeting and elections on 26 of July.

H term of this administration ended on June 30, 2010, but the President of the GCC George Papalios tried to extend it until next September, by postponing the General Assembly, citing reasons for not alerting members. The court found these reasons, lip, and the decision to convene the General Assembly adopted on 6 May 2010, a month earlier than the day of the meeting showing that the Board of Directors had more time to serve a legitimate request, and ordered the injunction against GCC It is recalled that under the Statute of the GCC (Presidential Decree 113, 11/05/1998), the Scriptwriters Guild of Greece is represented by a member of the 19th membered General Assembly.
