EAVE announces National Representatives - Erratum

With international co-productions at the base of their impressive filmographies, 31 players in the European film industry have been selected from the EAVE network to represent and promote EAVE in their respective countries.

As Italian national representative Stefano Tealdi puts it :

« The EAVE training was a major turning point in my professional life and allowed me to establish the first and most important relations in the film business.  The programme created a network of people working together in bringing quality films to a broad audience, and it is constantly growing.  Today we all talk, pitch and do business on the web, but the human interaction initiated in EAVE is what makes us really connect. »

AUSTRIA : Ursula Wolschlager, Witcraft Szenario OG
Ursula has worked as producer, line producer and script consultant since 1994 and has been responsible for a multitude of national productions and international co-productions shot in Austria, Russia, USA, Tajikistan, Niger, and other countries. She has worked with various directors, such as Michael Glawogger, Nathalie Borgers, Christian Frosch, Bakhtiar Khodoynazarov, and Barbara Albert. In 2008, she founded her own company WITCRAFT, where she developed and coproduced (among others) THE FATHERLESS by Marie Kreutzer, which premiered at the Berlinale 2011. As a screenwriter, Ursula was awarded the Carl Mayer New Talent Prize.

BELGIUM : Jan Roekens, Screen Flanders
Since January 2014 Jan holds the position of Head of production at Screen Flanders, the economic fund in the Flanders region of Belgium. Before and during 20 years, he worked as an independent producer at Sophimages (Belgium), producing both documentary and fiction films.

BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA : Amra Baksic-Camo, SCCA/pro.ba
Amra has been involved in new media and video production in the SEE region since 1995. She is one of the founders of SCCA/pro.ba, independent film, video
and TV production from Sarajevo and has produced and co-produced awarded short films and art videos, documentaries, TV programs and feature films. In 2013, An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker by Danis Tanovic won Jury Grand Prix and Silver Bear for Best Actor in Berlin. For 12 years, she is head of the CineLink of Sarajevo Film Festival.
She is a member of EFA and works at the Academy of Preforming Arts in Sarajevo, as a lecturer in the production department.

CROATIA : Ankica Jurić Tilić, Kinorama
Ankica graduated comparative literature from the Faculty of Arts in Zagreb. She is a graduate of EAVE, member of ACE, Producers on Move and European Film Academy. She founded her produciton company Kinorama in 2003. Ankica's filmography numbers 15 feature-length films, several TV series and a number of shorts. Some of her films were among top hits in cinemas, and all of them were screened at numerous festivals around the world, winning more than houndred awards.

CZECH REPUBLIC : Markéta Šantrochová, Czech Film Center
Markéta graduated from the University of West Bohemia, Faculty of Education. Throughout her studies at Charles university, Faculty of Arts (Czech language and literature and French translation studies), she collaborated with the Karlovy Vary IFF Program Department. Since joining the Czech Film Center in 2004, she focuses on promotional activities at different film festivals and markets such as Cannes, Berlin and Clermont-Ferrand, presentation and showcases of Czech films, publication activities, co-operation projects and promotion of short films abroad. Since January 2012, she is the Head of Film Promotion.

DENMARK : Ulrik Bolt Jørgensen, Film Commissioner, Oresund Film Commission
Ulrik Bolt Jørgensen, Copenhagen/Oresund Film Commission (DK) since 2003. He served as project leader paving the way for the Regional Filmfund in Copenhagen (2013) and was responsible for the EU funded cluster development project “Copenhagen Entertainment” 2008-12. Ulrik graduated from EAVE 1994 and has produced several "EAVE projects" i.e. the co-productions Belma (95), Katjas Adventure (99) and Misery Harbour (99).

ESTONIA: Riina Sildos. Amrion
Riina Sildos established Amrion Productions in 2003 and is active in development and production of high quality feature films and documentaries for local and international cinema and TV markets. Her productions include internationally awarded drama “The Class” (2007), the box-office hit “I Was Here” (2008), successful animation features „Lotte from Gadgetville“ (2006) and “Lotte and the Moonstone Secret” (2011), both premiered at Berlinale Generations KPlus and dramas “The Poll Diaries” (2010) and “Hella W” (2011). In 2012, “Une Estonienne a Paris” premiered at Locarno FF. The latest productions include features by Ilmar Raag “Kertu. Love is Blind“ (2013) and “I Will not Come Back“ (2014). As the former president of Estonian Film Foundation Riina Sildos has extensive knowledge and experience in international financing and marketing and is one of the most recognized persons in Baltic film industry. Riina is also one of the co-founders of the international Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn the head of the EAVE B’EST training programme.

FINLAND : Aleksi Bardy, Helsinki-Filmi
Aleksi Bardy (born 1970) is the founder and partner of Helsinki -filmi and professor at Helsinki Film School ELO. Bardy has produced over 20 feature films in Finland and internationally, including both commercial hits like LAPLAND ODYSSEY and HEART OF LION as well as avantgarde films like THEY HAVE ESCAPED.

FRANCE : Jean des Forêts, Petit Film
Based in Paris, Jean produces and coproduces two to three films a year all of which are auteur-driven features targeting the international market. His productions have premiered in Cannes, Berlin or Venice. Jean des Forêts is appointed member of CNC/MAE – Aide aux Cinémas du Monde committee. He is Head of Studies and group leader for EAVE Europe / Latin-America Puentes worksop since 2011.

GERMANY : Jonas Weydemann, Weydemann Bros. GbR
Jonas was born in Hamburg, Germany. He studied film production at the German Film and Television Academy (dffb) in Berlin and participated in the IDFAcademy, the Berlinale Talent Campus, the Rotterdam Lab and the Cannes Producers Network. Jonas is alumni of the Media programs ep2c and EAVE Producer’s Workshop and recipient of the renowned Robert Bosch Co-Production Prize. He is programming director at the short film festival Wendland Shorts and member of the European Film Academy. Together with his brother Jakob D. Weydemann he is running the production company Weydemann Bros.

GREECE : Konstantinos Kontovrakis, Heretic
Konstantinos is founder and partner of Athens based production company Heretic (www.heretic.gr). His credits include some of most award-winning Greek films of the last years, such as “Wasted Youth” (2011), “Boy Eating the Bird’s Food” (2012), “Standing Aside, Watching” (2013) and “Forever” (2014).

HUNGARY : Viktoria Petranyi, Proton Cinema
Having worked together successfully for five years on such films as the Silver Leopard winner Pleasant Days, director Kornél Mundurczó and producer Viktória Petrányi set up their Budapest-based production company Proton Cinema in 2003. The co-founders, who not only produce and direct but also co-write their projects, have worked on successful features as the FIPRESCI Award winner Delta and the 2014 Cannes Film Festival’s Certain Regard Main Prize winner White God. Proton’s projects Land of Storms by Ádám Császi and For Some Inexplicable Reason by Gábor Reisz debuted in the Panorama section of Berlinale 2014 and the East of the West section of the Karlovy Vary Film Festival 2014, respectively.

IRELAND : Edwina Forkin, Zanzibar Films
Edwina has over seventeen years experience in Film and Television production. Currently the creative producer and CEO of Zanzibar Films working from initial development through to production with always an eye for quality content with a primary focus of working with emerging Talent.

ITALY : Stefano Tealdi, Stefilm
Born 1955 in South Africa, Stefano graduated in Architecture and was head of AV production for Politecnico di Torino, Italy. He established the production company Stefilm in 1985, developing, producing and at times directing documentary features and series, including Vinylmania (IFFR 2012) and Char… the No Man’s Island (Berlinale Forum 2013). EAVE graduate in 1992, Stefano chaired the European Documentary Network EDN and directed the annual event Documentary in Europe. Stefano tutors for Berlinale College, Cannes Film Festival, Doc Campus, Durban Film Mart, ESoDoc, Media Business School, Med Film Factory, Scuola Holden, Festival des 3Continents-Produire au Sud.

LATVIA : Aija Berzina, TASSE FILM
Producer based in Riga, Latvia. Studied film cricitcs in Latvian Academy of Culture. Currently Head of Producer's Associacion of Latvia and Head of Film Council at the Minister of Culture.

LITHUANIA : Dagne Vildziunaite, Just a moment
Dagne is a graduate of ROTTERDAM LAB 2013, EAVE 2012, EX-ORIENTE 2011, EURODOC 2010 and holds B.A. in both Psychology and TV and Film Management. She has (co-)produced ten fiction and documentary short and feature-length films which have been well recognized, both nationally and internationally.

LUXEMBOURG: David Grumbach, Juliette Films / BAC Films
Born in Paris, David moved to Luxembourg in 2005 to team up with Paul Thiltges in order to develop, produce and finance feature films through PTD. His international scope and the importance of the Belgian financing in his productions naturally lead David to associate with Jean-Yves Roubin through Frakas Productions in 2010. He is also managing two film production companies: Juliette Films (Luxembourg) and Jaya Productions (France). In 2013, he became the new owner and CEO of BAC Films, a distribution company based in Paris.
His filmography, where elevated genre films (comedy, thriller, sci-fi, animation...) are mixed up with art-house films, reflects his passion for cinema and his eclectic tastes.

MACEDONIA : Labina Mitevska, Sisters and Brother Mitveski,
Sisters and Brother Mitevski is a family run production company based in Macedonia. Labina, Teona and Vuk successfully launched their company in 2001. They have produced How I killed a Saint, I am from Titov Veles, The Woman Who brushed off her tears, all of which are European co-productions. Sisters and Brother Mitevski have just finished a documentary about Mother Teressa, and are currently shooting The Boy With a Torn Sock in the Right Hand, a short clay – stop animation film, animated by Vuk and Teona. Their next feature When the day had no name is due to start shooting in April 2015. They are preparing their first co-production, the new film by Christi Puiu, Sierra Nevada.

MALTA : Pierre Ellul : Falkun Films
Pierre started out in the Assistant Directors’ department working with the likes of Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg and Alfonso Cuaron, amongst others. Since setting up Falkun Films in 2007, together with other works he has produced the highly successful documentary DEAR DOM, service produced the Oscar nominated Norwegian Feature KON-TIKI and co-produced the Danish feature film ALL INCLUSIVE. Pierre is a European Film Academy voting member.

NETHERLANDS : Ellis Driessen, Acquisition Consultant Europe & Middle East Fortissimo Films / - International policy officer Netherlands Film Fund, Fortissimo Films / Netherlands Film Fund
Active in various fields of the international and Dutch film industry, working through privately owned company Proctor Film & TV. Activities include acquisition consultancy Europe & Middle East for sales agent Fortissimo Films, advisory for the Netherlands Film Fund-International Affairs and Holland Film Meeting of the Netherlands Film Festival.

NORWAY : Kristine Knudsen, Den siste skilling AS
Kristine studied film theory in Lillehammer before she studied filmproduction at the Filmakademie Baden Württemberg in Germany. Co- founder of Knudsen & Streuber Medienmanufkatur GmbH in Berlin and Den siste skilling AS in Bergen. Knudsen attended MEGA Master in Audiovisual Management 2004, EAVE in 2012 and The Pixel Lab in 2013.
She has produced FASHION VICTIMS and MERCY, currently in production with animation RICHARD THE STORK (Ger- Bel- Lux- Nor) and feature film DOLL IN THE CEILING (Nor- Can).

POLAND : Jan Naszewski, New Europe Film Sales
Sales agent and festival organizer. Owner of the Warsaw-based boutique world sales company New Europe Film Sales, which sells short and feature films. Organizer of industry events at the T-Mobile New Horizons IFF and collaborator of Connecting Cottbus. Expert for the European Film Academy (EFA Young Audience Award 2014 selection committee) and Creative Europe/MEDIA. Graduate and guest lecturer of EAVE and Wajda School in Warsaw. Co-producer of the short film LA ISLA by Dominga Sotomayor and Kasia Klimkiewicz (Canon Tiger Award at Rotterdam IFF in 2014).

PORTUGAL: Nuno Bernardo, BeActive S.A.
An EAVE graduate and 2014 'Producer on the Move' at Cannes Film Festival, Nuno is an award-winning and Emmy-nominated writer-producer, founder and manager of beActive Entertainment - a Portuguese Film, TV and Digital production studio.

ROMANIA : Ada Solomon, HiFilm
Ada has worked in the film business for the last 20 years. The films produced by her were presented & awarded in the most prestigious festivals ( over 100 awards received). She co-produced with France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria, Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Croatia, Bulgaria & Hungary. Her films are released in over 40 territories, around the world. Ada Solomon is board member of European Film Academy and was awarded the Co-production Award by Eurimages in 2013.

RUSSIA : Anna Katchko, Tandem Production
Actively working in Russia, Kazakhstan, Germany and Ukraine. Producer of more than 10 international co-productions including Harmony Lessons Silver Bear at Berlinale 2013.
Founder of MIFF Business Square, the Film Business Platform at Moscow IFF, B’EST - training workshop for the Russian and CIS film producers, Spotlight: New Kazakh Cinema, co-prod event at Eurasia IFF in Kazakhstan.

SERBIA : Miroslav Mogorović, Art & Popcorn
Owner of Art&Popcorn Motion Picture Company and Soul Food Distribution Company. Beside film production, Miroslav Mogorovic is also the programme director of Palic Film Festival and managing director of Cinema Fontana, a member of the Europa Cinema Network.

SLOVENIA : Jozko Rutar, Slovenian Film Centre
Born in 1970. After graduation from the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana he started working as a producer of cultural events and performances. He worked with the dance group EN-KNAP for five years as a producer of dance performances and films. In 2004 he joined the STARAGARA production company and produced several short live-action and documentary films. On 1 July 2011 he was appointed by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia to the position of director of Slovenian Film Centre. In his career as producer he produced 3 feature films and numerous shorts and documetaries. Films were presented in Cannes, Venice, Locarno, Rotterdam… Member of European Film Academy and board member of slovenian audiovisual collecting society AIPA.

SPAIN : María Zamora, Avalon P.C.
A graduate in Business Administration, María started working at Avalon in 2001 and became a partner in the company in 2007. She has served as a co-producer on films by directors such as Federico Veiroj (ACNÉ, Cannes 2008, Uruguay-Argentina-Spain) or Andi Baiz (THE HIDDEN FACE, with Fox International and Colombia's Dynamo). Maria has produced films by Spanish directors such as León Siminiani (MAPA), Javier Rebollo (WOMAN WITHOUT PIANO, Best Director at San Sebastian IFF 2009) and David Planell (THE SHAME). Her most recent work was the Spanish-Mexican-German co-production TODOS ESTÁN MUERTOS, the feature debut by Beatriz Sanchis, starring Elena Anaya (Shooting Star 2004) premiered at Montreal World Film Festival 2014.

SWEDEN : Helena Danielsson, DanielssonHepp Film AB
Award winning producer Helena Danielsson established Hepp Film in 2003 after a fifteen-year-long career in the Scandinavian and European film industry. Besides her base in Sweden, she has set up branches basedin Mumbai and London, with a focus on her English language slate. Danielsson was awarded with a European Film Academy Award – Prix Eurimages -in 2012 and same year shortlisted for an Oscar with the film Kiruna-Kigali. She is a board member of the European Film Academy since 2012.

UK: Christine Alderson, Ipso Facto Films
Christine has always been inspired to produce work from directors who were not naturally supported by the establishment and is fascinated by stories from non mainstream perspectives. Some highlights : NASTY NEIGHBOURS, IRINA PALM, SOULBOY, VALHALLA RISING, COMES A BRIGHT DAY, SNOW IN PARADISE.
Christine is a voting member of BAFTA and EFA.

WALES : Mark John, Vision Thing Communications Ltd
An established UK-based Content Producer for 30 years (TV/Radio/Short Film/Features/On-Line), Mark has worked among others for the BBC (1984-1994); independents Prospect Media Group (1994-2000) & with Vision Thing (1994-2014).
